Post Office, Alva, Okla. ca. 1937 postcard view.

The Alva Post Office located on government Street faces west and is across the street from the courthouse square. The east side of the courthouse and county jail face the Post Office with a parking lot and a small croquette park in between the two buildings.

The Old Postcard Photo above was taken sometime around 1937. This Post Office was erected and furnished in 1936 at a cost of sixty thousand dollars. It replaced a Post Office building located a little to the north which faced Flynn Street. The building behind the Post Office is the City Hall, Fire Department and Police Station.
