aufitor of the Santa Fe.
Boulanger -- In Northern Osage county, 19 miles
northeast of Pawhuska. A former townsite, established in 1914 and named
for Isaac Boulanger, townsite owner.
Hulah -- In Northeastern Osage county, 10 miles
north and west of Bartlesville. Townsite plat filed March 4, 1918. The
name is the Osage word for hluah, meaning "eagle."
Keefe -- A rural community in Osage county, 3
miles east of Fairfax. Named for J. H. Keefe, vice-president of the
Santa Fe Railway.
Little Chief -- A rural community in western
Osage county, 5 miles southeast of Burbank. Took its name from nearby
Little Chief Creek.
McInnis -- A switch and loading point on the
Santa Fe Railway in Osage county, 8 miles west of Pawhuska. Named for
E. E. McInnis, Santa Fe Railway attorney.
New Prue -- In Osage county north of the former
Prue townsite. Relocated because of the Keystone Reservoir.
Perrier -- In Osage county, 8 miles east of Hominy.
Townsite plat filed Sept. 3, 1918. It was named for James Perrier, prominent
Osage.
Soldani -- A switch and loading point on the
the Santa Fe Railway in western Osage county, adjoining Burbank. Named
for Sylvester Coldani, prominent Osage.
Strohm -- In Osage county, 7 miles northeast
of Fairfax. Named for Charles B. Strohm, Santa Fe Railway official.
Whizbang -- Local name for DeNoya in Osage count.
Took its name from Captain Billy's Whizbang, a magazine popular
at the time.
Woolaroc -- In Osage county, 14 miles southwest
of Bartlesville. Well known ranch of the late Frank Phillips and now
a game preserve and museum. The name was coined from the words woods,
lakes, and rocks.
