Old Opera House Mystery

2 Dec. 1910, Renfrew's Record, Alva, Okla. I just threw in because Mauntel is mentioned in this article and is one of the Defense attorneys for Justice N. L. Miller, Case #612, Woods County, Oklahoma, 1910.

A New Law Firm In Alva - news article

A new law firm, Chase & Stevens, have opened an office in the southwest rooms over the Woods County Union Bank. Mr. A. J. Stevens is already well and favorably known as junior member of the law firm of Mauntel & Stevens and for the splendid race he made for the Democratic nomination for county judge.

Mr. R. B. Chase, the senior member of the firm, just arrived Monday from Paw Paw, Michigan, and has decided to locate in Alva. He was for many years a leading attorney of Southwestern Michigan, and the gentlemen were law partners in that state for several years before Mr. Stevens came to Alva, some three years ago. Mr. Chase has been here before and is much pleased with our city. He expects his family to arrive here in the course of two weeks and they will make their permanent home here as soon as they find a suitable location. We welcome the new firm to Alva's professional life and the Chase family to the city's social circle.
