Vol 5, Iss 6 OKC, Oklahoma - Well! Last weekend, Feb. 1, 2003, started off on a sad note last Saturday morning as the Columbia Spacecraft was re-entering for a landing in Florida. It didn't make it! It crashed somewhere over Texas.

The 1941 era brings us to a time when young couples were scurrying to the altar before young servicemen were sent off overseas to fight in WWII. Some other young men were working on their Master degrees at Oklahoma Agricultural & Mechanical College in Stillwater. One such young man was Wm. Hankins Hughes that wrote his thesis on Old Fort Supply.

It was another windy, Spring week here in Oklahoma, except for this Friday when the temperatures dipped down into the 40s and 50s. The end of March brings a possible chance of frost, freezes this weekend... but no snow.

Vol 5, Iss 5 OKC, Oklahoma - I suppose you all made it through the Super Bowl weekend of commercials and the snowstorms in the northeast USA. The weather here in Oklahoma still changes every three or four days from Spring to Winter to Spring and back to Winter again. The head cold is gone, though!

Well! Brrrrr!.... According to the Calendar, it's Springtime once again! Thursday March 20, 2003, brought in a chilly remindered that we were one day away from Spring... among other things - Winter is still with us for another day at least here in the heartland. By Friday, the temps were back in the 50's and 60's with sunshine to warm things up for the first day of Spring 2003! What will saturday bring?

Vol 5, Iss 7 OKC, Oklahoma - Last Friday's snowfall brought maybe two or three inches on the ground up in Northwest Oklahoma, but I hear it didn't last long. More of a soaker, I guess, and we needed that. After Saturday, the Spring-like weather has been shining across the state with promise of rain showers to come in Thursday. Those showers didn't amount to much in the Northwest.
