Icicles To Historical Events
While the eastern front of America has been feeling a chilly cold front pass through there this week, here in southwest Colorado we have been having above normal, dry weather of 40F as the snow on the rooftops have been forming icicles that grow with each melting.
Lots of things have been happening as we turn the corner of another weekend in January, 2009. One of those happenings is the Obama Express Journey from Philadelphia, PA to Washington DC.
As to the historical journey we have been experiencing this weekend, I have been wishing that I could be there on the mall in DC to be a part of this historical event and journey culminating, January 20, 2009, as America's 44th president and vice-president are sworn in amongst millions who have journeyed to the capitol to witness history in person.
Alas... I tune my computer to CNN.com LIVE -- catching glimpses of those who made the journey.
What does this historical moment mean to you? Good or Bad ... We want to hear from you!

Comments: The 'hype' as some call it seems to have gotten more people involved in their community and their government. Is it a bad thing? People become involved when they believe that they can make a difference. I lived in DC for five years. I have not seen a crowd like this except on New Year's and Fourth of July. Why should Americans not celebrate an effective change of leadership in a democracy (or republic)? Even if you do not agree with the leadership in power, YOU can still change the world and continue to make it better. Volunteer! Join AmeriCorps! Well, by the time the Pres-Elect gets "crowned" I will have heard so much about it that I am having a hard time being civil about it!!. So, we changed Presidents. It happens frequently and we don't have a civil uprising over it. And all the hype is uncalled for! I am retired USAF and do not see the "big deal" in this. Yes, he is the first black, but that doesn't qualify him for all the hype. I just hope that his administration doesn't destroy the military, both moral wise and resource wise. I certainly wish the Pres-Elect the best in trying to turn things around economically. Of course, it still takes the House and Senate to agree with Administration to get things approved and enacted.
