Farry, OK Descendants
"Linda, I used to get the Okie Legacy, but haven't for quite some time. How do I manage too start getting it again? My husband, Floyd died in Sept. of 2001, but grew up in the Farry area and knew a lot of people around there, Alva, etc." -- Evelyn Reed, Coldwater, KS.

Comments: Evelyn Reed, Welcome back to the fold. I grew up in the Farry Community, in fact I remember of Floyd working for my dad A.C.Melkus. WE did not have the modern conveniences that people have today, so Flody would have to take a bath in the livestock tank, anyway he always left a plug of chewing tobacco, on the cement platform of the Windmill. Me, Francis Melkus, being a curious boy tried the plug of chewing tobacco. You can imagine what happened, at least I never tried it again, and never told my folks of the experience.
Floyd's sister Wanda ( Reed ) Melkus was my aunt. Francis R. Melkus of Amarillo, Texas ~Francis R. Melkus 2006-09-11 00:05:53
