I did some searching in Gmail's Help section and find the following information: Here's how to adjust encoding settings in Internet Explorer: Here's how to adjust encoding settings in Firefox: Here's how to adjust encoding settings in Safari: For those of you using the Macintosh, if you are using OS X v10.4.x, I suggest that you use the Apple provided "Safari" browser. I works great and is not a Microsoft product that has other issues (virus, hacker, etc). To be sure there could still be similar issues with Safari, but they are much fewer and farther between. ~Jim Bradley 2006-01-16 10:13:05 I think I understand what the issue is for subscribers getting the correct link to view the Issues. I found this info the folloing article about how YOUR email clients can reformat web authors eNewsletters: www.masternewmedia.org P.S. I also the function to auto subscribe you to comments if you submit using your email address. This way you will be informed if someone comments to your comment. ~MWags 2006-01-15 17:14:41 Reference Barbara's problems with getting your column using FireFox. I think the problem was confined to your last issue. I use FireFox and could not get the last issue to load, but Mike seems to have that cleared up now. Lou ~Lou Wagner 2006-01-15 13:21:06 I am confused. Is the error in the link that you receive having to do with the variables sent to the database idenifying the issue and volume numbers or is it an error message on the page that having to do with the database connection. The only change from 2005 is that her host no longer allows DNS and requires us to use MapPath. ~mike 2006-01-14 18:36:03 I had saved the index page in my Favorites list, so it opened initially to the 2005 issue. It was easy enough to delete '05 and add '06. I'm using Firefox with a Windows XP machine with no problems getting the "Legacy" to download. ~Rod Murrow 2006-01-14 18:08:16 Much of the problem opening the present series of The Okie Legacy is because of the way it is now being sent to us. There is no longer a simple address for us to click on. I've been returning to some of last years emails, clicking on the address there and then changing the volume number and the issue number to what "this week's" indicted issue is, and then clicking on "go" in the address bar. It IS more difficult and time consuming, but it works every time. Hope this explanation helps someone. ~Roy Kendrick 2006-01-14 17:39:39 Add your two-cents (BACK TO FULL ISSUE)
