I was browsing one of my favorite messageboards the other day and
found this prose that someone had written -- "We wrote down all
the pains we put aside today and never let us feel, and we made
a small fire in a protected corner of the field, and we read each
pain and burnt each pain and let it fly away into the stars. and
now we're ready for another day on the earth." -- by darktides.
What a great way to start a fresh New Beginning in the Spring of
our lives. Where everything is New and we let our pains be set free
so that we can be re-born and have another chance to make things
better and work to become a survivor.
Here's another great quote I came across on the web, "Invest
in the strength of your own respect. You can certainly respect others
without having to agree with the things they say or do. In fact,
respectful disagreement can be a powerful catalyst for growth and
achievement. Think with respect, speak with respect, and act with
respect toward others. It will surely make you more respected, and
that's something which can pay steady dividends for a long time
to come." -- Ralph Marston
That is how I feel about you, my friends! I respect you for any
differences and believe that any disagreements that we might have
can help us mature during our growth and achievement process. If
we would only think, speak and act with respect towards others,
think about how much more we all could achieve together as a unified
whole to make this a better Universe for all. AND -- A genuine,
sincere smile seen through the voice, eyes and touch will be a powerful
stimulant towards how tohers react towards you.
Someone sent me this quote, "Sometimes I forget to be thankful
for all things, even the pain.. even among the tragedies of our
world. Yet there is always that hope that because of God... Good
can come out of any bad. This I believe with all my heart.......by
Lora".
Before I get started here... Would you take a few quiet moments
of silence and send your prayers, strength, courage and healing
light to those who have lost precious lives in the Littelton, Colorado
tragedy? Thanks for everything and I know the friends and families
would apprreciate every word of encouragement that you cold send
their way. The URL for the "Columbine
High School Guestbook".
Cathy is the one who started the letter of support that is going
around collecting names for the survivors in Littleton, Colorado.
As of thursday night she had gathered over 400 names , and friday
morning she has 350 emails in her box!! And still more coming in
every few minutes!
Cathy says, "There is no way I can compile all of these, so I am
going to set up a special webpage with a guestbook for people to
sign. I hope to have the page up by this afternoon or evening. Stop
by "In
Their Honor" and send this URL to your firends, and when
it's up, please sign the guestbook. Thanks.! "
As to the update on the "Remembrance of 19 April 1995 OKC Survivors".
Rhonda has collected over 1200+ signatures and had over 7000+ hits
on her webpage from March 19 thru April 19. You can still sign her
guestbook which is a continuing process into the year 2000 for the
Survivors and their families. Check out her site with statistics
at "19
April 1995, OKC - You'll Never Walk Alone" by Rhonda - :rhonda52@earthlink.net.
I got up early Monday morning (April 19) - Printed out copies
of her website - Placed in a plastic cover - Tied it on the "OKC
Memorial Fence" with all the other gifts people have left behind
. I also took some photos of the Memorial that "OKC Memorial Foundation"
is building for the survivors and their families of the19 April
1995 OKC Bombing. I will get them scanned ASAP for those interested
in viewing the project.
Meanwhile... Here is some pics with the "Memorial Fence"
that everyone leaves their tokens of love for the 168 Angels and survivors
- OKC Fence #1
and OKC Fence group
shot. A view of the "Survivor's
Tree" looking through the chainlink fence and towards the SE
with city buildings in the background.
The "OKC Memorial Foundation" is still accepting donations
to help build the Memorial. If anyone is interested, you can CONTACT:
"OKC Memorial Foundation - PO Box 323, OKC, OK 73101" for
more information on how you can help. Thanks!
Speaking of Everything being New... My younger sister recently
celebrated her 50th B-Day this week and I send to her the following
birthday message and wish:
"HAPPY BIRTHDAY, SIS... I Love
You! -- You're 50th Birthday did NOT go unforgotten! This
is just the beginning of a NEW Era for you. I know... Because
I was there last year. AND... I decided that if anything needs
to happen for the Good in my life that I was the one to make that
happen. SO.... I decided right then
and there that becoming the magical age of 50 was going to be
the beginning of my NEW Life. I wrote down all the things I wanted
to do and change in my life. So far... I have exceeded my expectations.
I'm still learning and growing. I have made wonderful things happen
in my life. I've been working on my writing - Meeting new friends
and connecting with old ones - Opening my heart to new adventures
and experiences that have challenged my life and made me a better
person. For your 50th Birthday present,
Amber, (Tuesday, April 21, 1999) -- I give you the seeds
of light, courage, endurance, strength, love and friendship to
"Begin a brand NEW Life". Enjoy and appreciate everyday that is
given to you and May God Bless you and your family -- Always!
Your Older Sis (Oakie)"
I am still learning...
"You can't depend on your eyes when your imagination
is out of focus." -- Mark Twain.
This quote from Mark Twain and another little prose was passed on to
me via Email. I've since lost the Email and who sent it to me. So giving
credit where credit is due is NOT possible right now, BUT... Maybe someone
willl recgonize "I am still learning"
and Email Oakie.... :-)
If someone out there remembers sending this little insight and
enlightenment below, please remind me so I can give you credit.
Thanks! I do appreciate everything that you all send my way and
try to give credit to where it came from -- BUT sometimes things
get lost in all my Email box clutter... LOL :-)
I have learned and experienced in just the past few years the very
same things that "I am still learning" states. I couldn't have said
it better. I would like to share it with you, my friends. Please follow
this URL: ("I am still learning")
One of my special friend's favorite sayings is, "Everything is
New.......!" Those three words say alot! My friend is a very wise
person even if he doesn't see himself as such.
If I may add on to that, "Nothing never dies! It only changes like
the seasons. Giving us another chance in the Spring to decide what
to make of those changes. You can choose to be a victim or you can
choose to be a survivor. I will always choose to be a survivor and
make the most of every situation and experience."
I will sow my seeds of respect, light, courage, endurance, strength,
love and friendship the whole year and watch them sprout into beautiful
flowers. Some may call them weeds, but I can respect that. It is because
we all have different ways of viewing the same things. To grow and achieve
we need to be respectfful of others differences and disagreements.
