Hello, my friends! . . . I hope we can connect with each other "Heart to Heart" and "Soul to Soul" and get to know each other from the inside out as special friends! I'm starting a NEW Adventure this week. Starting on Thursday, 8 April 1999, I have become what some might call a "columnist" in a small, rural, "Biggest, Little Town" in Freedom, Oklahoma in the Northwest part of the state.

I'm also sending out my first "Oakie's Heart To Heart Newsletter" this evening to those on my mailing list. It has my blood rushing sweetly through my heart and soul! it is a Labor of Love! The feeling is GOOD!

Some of you already know me, but just in case you want to know more - Here I am! I'm Oklahoma born and breed. I'm 1/4 Bohemian and the rest is a mixture of Dutch - Scotch - Irish - English - German - maybe a little French. That is the "Okie" part of me.

My Life is influenced by my friends, mentors and the adventures that I experience and survive. They become my character builders in time of crisis - Especially, family crisis in my life. I am survivor! That is the sturdy, strong, gracefully swaying Oak tree in me.

The combination of the two (Okie & Oak) is what developed into "Oakie"! My real name is Linda, but my friends call me "Oakie" in ICQ & on the Web.

I've been writing a journal for awhile and doing research on my ancestors at ParisTimes Pioneers Genealogy (http://paristimes.com). It has been good therapy for the soul and a "Journey of Discovery" that I have enjoyed and experienced with much pleasure. I've done a little soul searching and have come to a realization that "Life is too short to squander on hate and anger!"

The Title of this Weekly Newsletter came about by way of input & influence from a combination of many friends who have contributed and given me so much in my Life. Even my sisters, Dorthy, Amber and Connie.

My online and real life friends have accused me of having a "BIG" Heart. I've been referred to as a "remarkable - amazing - special lady - one of a kind lady" by many of those that I connect with!

BUT . . . I'm still the "Humble , Unselfish, Unconditional, Oakie" that I always was and always will be. I am who I am and wouldn't trade places with anyone right now!

I cherish all my friends for what each has given to me -- For that reason I dedicate this "Issue #1" of "Oakie's Heart To Heart" to them collectively. Their encouragement - strength - friendship they have shared with me is appreciated everyday. Together -- Standing side by side as one -- We can make a difference!

This is the beginning of our relationship together! I'm not here to persuade you into thinking one way or the other -- BUT to encourage - support - strengthen - offer a hand of unselfish - unconditional - strength and genuine friendship. I am a great listener!
