A Grandfather's LegacyGrandpa's Baseball LegacySenators Won AgainMcGill's Speedy Curves Too Much for Bronchos, Who Lost by score of 5 to 4 in Spectacular Game. Excellent FieldingSpectators Kept on Anxious Seat From First to Last
-- Austin 5; San Antonio 4. Double-header today. First and Fifth United States cavalry at the park at 3 o'clock. Austin and San Antonio at 4:45. If Friday's game with the Bronchos was a good one, the game yesterday was equally as spectacular. Though it was punctured with errors which cost dearly sometimes, especially on the part of San Antonio, it was one of those contests full with grand stand spectacular, breath-taking plays which dozens of times tore the most conservative fan from his seat and forced him to send his old hat into the air. It was a good game, and that Austin won was nothing more than should have happened. The men outplayed the Bronchos, played togethr better, made fewer errors, were there with the spectacular plays more and swatted the ball harder. McFarland pitched for San Antonio and was touched for eleven hits, while McGill let them off with seven, one or two of which were doubtful. McGill pitched a magnificent game. Like McCall the day before, he had good control, a terrific speed, and had his head with him at all stages of the contest. His curves proved too much for the wily Bronchos.
