Constance E. Warwick

A Grandmother's Legacy

This is my Grandma (Constance Estella Warwickl) on my father's side of the family.   She married William Jacob McGill and they raised two sons (Gene and Robert).  In the early 1940s William and Constance got divorced July, 1944.  William remarried, but Constance never did.

Constance was a domineering, no-nonsense, business woman that graduated from Northwestern Normal School and taught school in Woods (M) County.  She also farmed and ranched her father's (John R. Warwick) land that he accumulated before he died in December 1937.

My Father (Gene) was the oldest born in December 1914 and his brother (Robert) was the youngest born in 1916.  While Bob was away at Kemper Military School 1936-38 and Kentucky University afterwards serving in WWII overseas; Gene was farming and going to Pharmacy school at Oklahoma University.  Gene Graduated with his Pharmacy Degree from OU - June, 1937.

Constance had a younger brother, Robert Lee Warwick, born November 5, 1887, Monterey, Virginia. Robert Lee Warwick's OBIT is also listed below on "RLWarwick" of this page. Robert died November 17, 1952, Western State Hospital, at the age of 65 years, and 12 days. He is buried in the Alva Municipal Cemetery, Alva, Oklahoma, November 19, 1952, 3:00 P.M. Constance & Robert also had a brother named Wilbur who died at a young age.
